I'm a heel junkie, so I wasn't hopeful that I would find cute flats. These shoes are absolutely perfect! The less-than-1-inch heel makes them look more elegant than a flat, but they are incredibly comfortable - almost like flip flops. The heel is not a narrow kitten heel, but a nice, wide and solid heel that is easy to balance in. Two caveats: First, the sizes run big - I typically wear a 9.5, and I ordered a 9 in these, and I probably could have gotten away with an 8.5 (but the 9 is just right). Second, based on reviews I saw on another site, I ordered the wide (even though I don't typically wear wide). I'm glad I did - the straps fit just right.
